A LIAM Trotter double helped Ipswich reserves to victory at Southend and pushed them 13 points clear at the top of the Combination League.
Jordan Rhodes completed the scoring after punching on a poor back pass as the Blues came back from a James Lawson opener to seal victory.
Manager Jim Magilton along with assistant Bryan Klug and chief scout Steve McCall, were all on hand to watch the young side play well against the Shrimpers, with Darren Currie upping the average age and showed he is looking for a first team return.
Trotter, who was recently on loan at Millwall scored the pick of the goals with a long-range screamer, after equalising in the second half.
