This weekend is first round of the FA Cup, so Ross Halls takes a look at which former Ipswich Town players are looking to help their sides progress....
LEE EVANS
The Welshman joined Blackpool this summer after helping Portsmouth win promotion to the Championship last season.
Steve Bruce's side also have fellow ex-Blues Jordan Rhodes, Matthew Pennington, Hayden Coulson and Dominic Thompson in their ranks and they travel to Gillingham in this round.
The Kent side also have some ex-Blues in their squad in the form of Jonny Williams and Oli Hawkins, who are managed by Mark Bonner.
DAVID MCGOLDRICK
The forward now plays for Notts County after joining the Magpies last summer and is a key player for Stuart Maynard's side in League Two.
They face National League North side Alfreton Town, who beat Spennymoor Town 1-0 at home in the previous road.
McGoldrick scored 45 goals in 159 games during his five year spell at Portman Road.
FREDDIE LADAPO
The forward departed Town by mutual consent in August and signed for League One side Huddersfield Town on a two-year deal.
They travel to National League outfit Tamworth, who were promoted to the fifth tier last season and beat Macclesfield 4-2 at home to progress to this round.
Ladapo netted 25 goals in 75 games as he played a part in Town’s back-to-back promotions.
GRANT WARD AND JAMES WILSON
The duo now play for Bristol Rovers, who will want to prevent a cup shock as they host sixth tier side Weston-super-Mare.
Matt Taylor's side also have another former Town player in their ranks in Luke Thomas, who had a brief loan spell from Barnsley in 2021. They take on Scott Bartlett's side, who won 3-1 at Suffolk side Lowestoft Town in the fourth qualifying round.
Ward made 88 appearances, scoring eight goals for Town, while Wilson played 49 games and Thomas featured five times.
ARMANDO DOBRA
The winger linked up with ex-manager Paul Cook at Chesterfield in the summer of 2022 and helped them win the National League title last season
They will look to avoid a potential cup shock as they host seventh-tier side Horsham, who entered into this competition in the first qualifying round back in August. The Hornets reached the second round in 2023/24.
Dobra made 30 appearances and scored two goals during his time at Portman Road.
JACK LANKESTER
The forward left Cambridge United to join League Two side Crewe Alexandra for an undisclosed fee this summer.
They host fifth tier side Dagenham & Redbridge, who have fellow academy graduate Tom Eastman in their ranks.
Lankester played 30 games for Town, scoring three goals during his spell at Portman Road.
ELLIOTT HEWITT
The Welshman helped Nigel Clough's Burton side win promotion to League One last season, having spent nearly a year out with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
They travel to sixth tier side Curzon Ashton, who beat King's Lynn Town 1-0 in the previous road and have only reached the second round twice in their history.
Hewitt made 13 appearances for Town during his spell in Suffolk.
MYLES KENLOCK
The full-back joined Barnet on a three-year deal this summer, having spent most of last season at fellow fifth tier side Ebbsfleet United.
The Bees also have keeper Nick Hayes in their ranks, who was released by Town this summer, and they host third tier side Exeter City, who are 11th in the table.
Kenlock made over 100 appearances for Town after joining the youth set-up from the London-based Kinetic Academy.
ANTHONY GEORGIOU
The winger returned to England to join fifth tier side Wealdstone after spending last season at Enosis Neon Paralimni in his native Cyprus.
Matt Taylor's side will travel to League Two side Grimsby Town, who are managed by David Artell and sit tenth in the fourth tier.
Georgiou made 13 appearances for the Blues during his loan spell from Spurs in the 2019/20 season.
PANUTCHE CAMARA
The midfielder returned to League One side Crawley Town this summer following his release from the Blues at the end of last season.
They travel to Maidenhead United, who play in the fifth tier under Alan Devonshire and knocked out Taunton Town in the last round.
Camara made one start and three sub appearances for Town, scoring once.
BARRY COTTER
The Irishman joined Barnsley in January 2023 and has since become a regular in their side in League One.
Darrell Clarke's side travel to Port Vale, who have another former Town player in the form of Conor Grant, who had a brief spell on loan from Everton.
Cotter made just four appearances for Ipswich between 2018 and 2021.
TOTO NSIALA
The defender re-joined Shrewsbury Town to reunite with Paul Hurst this summer, having spent time at Burton Albion.
They will travel to Salford City, who have former loanee Luke Garbutt in their side and are managed by Karl Robinson.
Garbutt scored six goals in 30 games for Town during his loan from Everton in 2019/20, while Nsiala played 78 games for Town, scoring one goal during his time at Portman Road.
GEORGE FOWLER
The defender is still at Maidstone United, having been part of the side that famously beat Ipswich to reach the fifth round last season.
George Elokobi's side travel to Solihull Moors, who are a league above them and sit eight in the fifth tier.
Fowler made one appearance for the Blues after coming through the youth ranks.
MACAULEY BONNE
The forward is now at Southend United, having signed for the National League side this summer following his release from Gillingham at the end of last season.
He will come up against his former side Charlton Athletic, who have Gassan Ahadme in their ranks after he joined Nathan Jones' side from Ipswich this summer.
Bonne netted 12 times in 46 games during his loan spell at Portman Road from QPR in the 2021/22 season, while Ahadme made eight appearances for the Blues, scoring once.
JORDAN ROBERTS
The forward is another player looking to prevent a cup shock as Stevenage host seventh tier Guiseley, who play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
They have already played four games to reach this stage, having won 1-0 at Kidderminster Harriers in the last round.
Roberts made just 17 appearances during his two years in Suffolk.
LOUIE BARRY
The attacker returned to Stockport County on loan from Aston Villa for a second spell, having helped them win promotion to League One last season.
Dave Challinor's side host Forest Green Rovers, who were relegated to the National League in 2023/24.
Barry made six appearances during his brief loan spell at Portman Road in the first half of the 2021/22 season.
TEDDY BISHOP
The midfielder made a switch to Colchester United this summer following his release form Lincoln City at the end of last season.
Danny Cowley's side travel to fellow League Two side Swindon Town, who field another former Town player in Aaron Drinan.
In total, Bishop made 132 appearances for the Blues, scoring five times, while Drinan notched one goal in 24 games for Town.
JOE GARNER AND JAMES NORWOOD
The ex-Blues duo now play for National League side Oldham Athletic, who face one of Norwood's former sides in Tranmere Rovers.
They are 19th in League Two, while Micky Mellon's side are in the play-off spots in the fifth tier.
Norwood scored 28 goals in 88 games during his time at Portman Road, while Garner netted 10 times in 32 appearances for Town.
PAUL DIGBY
The defender has been at Cambridge United, who are managed by Garry Monk in the third tier, for the last four seasons.
They travel to fifth tier side Woking, who have former Town youngster Matt Ward in their side, having joined Michael Doyle's side following his release from Town this summer.
Digby played 13 games during his short spell at Town, while Ward made one senior appearance for the Blues.
GWION EDWARDS
The Welsh winger made the switch to Morecambe at the start of 2024 and impressed, signing a new deal until 2026.
Derek Adams' side are rock bottom of the football league and travel to sixth tier side Worthing, who won 4-0 at Plymouth Parkway in the previous round.
Edwards scored 14 goals in 108 appearances during his time at Portman Road.
JOE PIGOTT
The forward re-joined AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan from League One side Leyton Orient this summer.
Johnnie Jackson's side travel to rivals MK Dons, who they beat 3-0 at home in the league back in September. The Dons have another former forward in their ranks in Ellis Harrison.
Pigott scored three goals in 29 games for the Blues, while Harrison notched one goal in 17 games during his one season at Town.
DOM BALL
The midfielder was released by Town at the end of last season and since joined Leyton Orient on a one-year deal.
Richie Wellens’ side travel to sixth tier side Boreham Wood, who reached the fifth round of this competition 2021–22
Ball made 35 appearances for Town, scoring one goal as he played a supporting role in the Blues back-to-back promotions.
LOAN PLAYERS
Town midfeilder Cameron Humphreys will look to help his current loan side Wycombe Wanderers progress. The Chairboys, who are managed by former Town youngster Matt Bloomfield, host National League North side York City.
Elsewhere, Blues' youngsters Finley Barbrook and Edwin Agbaje will look to help National League side Sutton United force a cup shock as they host League One side Birmingham City.
