Ipswich Town Women play their first game of 2024 as they host Oxford United this afternoon (2pm). Ross Halls previews the game.
Joe Sheehan's side are back in action after their winter break, heading into this game off the back of the impressive 3-0 FA Cup win over Championship side Lewes last month.
The Tractor Girls are currently fourth in the Southern Premier Division table, winning six of their nine league games so far.
They had to score a late equaliser at Billericay Town to earn a point in their last league fixture after Natasha Thomas netted in the injury time.
Today they host Oxford United, who are sixth in the table after thrashing Billericay 8-0 at home before the Christmas break. They have won their all of their last three league games.
The two sides last met in October when Town were beaten 2-1 away from home thanks to a late winner from former player Zoe Barratt, who has recently extended her contract with them.
The game is being played at AGL Arena in Felixstowe, with the game kicking off at 2pm.
In other news, Maisy Barker was named Player of the Month for December after her impressive performances against Billericay and Lewes.
The full-back joined the club in the summer after leaving West Ham United and has made 13 appearances so far.
