Homeowners who experienced lengthy power cuts due to Storm Eunice may be due compensation after more than 3,000 properties across Suffolk and Essex still had no electricity on Sunday night.
UK Power Networks' online power cut tracker suggested there were outages still being reported across the region at 8pm on Sunday.
The firm’s 46,000km of overhead lines were damaged in more than 1,800 locations on Friday after the winds, which were recorded at speeds in excess of 70mph, caused widespread disruption.
An update posted on UK Power Networks' website at 6am on Sunday said power had been restored to about 95% of the 679,700 properties affected across the East and South East of England.
But by Sunday evening, 1,680 homes in Suffolk and 1,600 in Essex still had no power.
The highest number of properties to suffer outages in Suffolk on Friday was nearly 14,000, UK Power Networks revealed on Friday.
UK Power Networks received a record number of 23,000 calls that day - a total it would normally receive over 18 days.
Basil Scarsella, chief executive of UK Power Networks, revealed the firm was to offer compensation for those left without electricity for 24 hours or more.
He said: "I appreciate what a difficult time this is, for our many customers who have experienced a power cut caused by Storm Eunice which saw record wind speeds and damage across the South East and East of England.
"While we work hard to get everybody back on supply, we have decided to make goodwill payments to our customers who were worst affected by power cuts caused by Storm Eunice and have been without power for 24 hours.
"We recognise that being without power for this extended period affects your daily life so we have decided to make an extra £50 payment, earlier than payments would normally apply which would be after 48 hours.
"This means that if you were impacted by Storm Eunice you will be eligible to receive £50 after 24 hours without electricity, an additional £70 when you reach 48 hours, and an additional £70 thereafter for every 12 hours without power.
"There is no need for you to call us – we’ll contact everyone who is entitled to a payment by text message, email or letter in the coming days.
"I hope you and your families are safe and well. Please rest assured it’s our top priority to get your power back on as quickly as we can."
