Marquis Spa in Layham celebrating being named best

Marquis Spa in Layham, near Hadleigh, was named as a finalist for Best New Spa in the Good Spa Guide Regional Awards. 

The finalists and award winners were chosen based on the guide's bubble rating assessments along with the opinions of the "spa spy" inspectors. 

Speaking about Marquis, the Good Spa Guide paid tribute to the "breath-taking views across the Brett Valley" that guests can enjoy when they visit. 

The spa is a recent addition for the hotel following on from major renovation work which also added a wedding space and further landscape gardens.

Spa and wellness director Katie Baker said: "The team and myself are so incredibly proud of Marquis Spa and it is a wonderful achievement to be recognised along with other industry greats in the Good Spa Guide after only being open for three months.

"We were very mindful when creating the space that our offering had to be a truly unique experience for our guests and therefore every aspect was carefully considered. 

"From the extensive treatments, staff training and product partners to the subterranean architecture against the backdrop of a rural Suffolk, Marquis Spa ensures every guest has an unforgettable experience."

It is not the first national recognition the countryside spa has received this year. 

It was named alongside Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa in Newmarket, west Suffolk, in The Times' list of top 50 spas across the UK.

Both just missed out on being named the best in the East of England - which was received by the Norfolk Mead Hotel in Coltishall, Norfolk.

Individual treatments at Marquis Spa start from £75 or the spa offers half or full day experiences with prices starting from £210.
