The increase in parking fees to £15 at car parks closest to Portman Road will come into effect today.
Ipswich Borough Council announced that the price hike would come into effect on Tuesday, December 3 and will apply when Ipswich Town are playing at home.
The move sparked anger amongst some Blues fans.
The fee will apply to all of the council's long stay car parks on Portman Road, Princes Street and West End car parks from three hours before kick off to an hour after the first whistle.
Ipswich Borough Council defended the price hike, saying that “there is significant congestion in the area around the Portman Road stadium when there is a home match being played" and that the £15 to park on matchdays is significantly lower than car parks close to other Premier League grounds.
Earlier this week, the council confirmed that no discount will be in place for Blue Badge holders.
Kieran McKenna's men take on struggling side Crystal Palace, who are also on nine points, on Tuesday evening.
