Murals on Ipswich Waterfront have been placed on the ground after being hit by high-speed winds over the weekend.

A 34-metre-squared mural wall was painted on Albion Wharf in April last year to highlight the importance of women's safety.

It was commissioned by Ipswich Borough Council's Safer Streets campaign, artist Catalina Carvajal who worked with Art Eat Events to bring the design to life.

However, due to the high-speed winds of Storm Bert that hit the county over the weekend, a panel fell down.

Once safe, it is expected that the murals will be placed back up on the wall.

The storm saw high-speed winds through the weekend which affected several parts of the county.

UK Power Networks said 107 homes around Haughley, near Stowmarket, were without power on Monday afternoon due to tree branches which had struck overhead cables, after Storm Bert.
