Some 3,699 people in Ipswich have signed an online petition calling for a general election less than five months after the country went to the polls.
About 3.2% of Labour MP Jack Abbott's constituents have so far signed the petition started by West Midlands pub landlord Michael Westwood.
Despite winning 411 seats at July's general election - including Ipswich - with a majority of 174 Labour's popularity has declined since, according to several national polls.
According to polling conducted by Moreincommon between November 19 and 21 the Conservatives had the support of 28% of those asked compared to Labour on 25%, Reform 19%, Liberal Democrats 13% and the Greens on 8%.
Another poll by DeltaPoll conducted between November 14 and 18 points a more optimistic picture for Labour with the party on 29% compared to the conservatives on 27%.
The petition has so far attracted 2.7million signatures across the country and has been signed by 5,619 people in South Suffolk, 5,512 in West Suffolk, 5,343 in Waveney Valley, 4,924 in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket, 4,845 in Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, 4,844 in Suffolk Coastal and 4,804 in Lowestoft.
