A Kesgrave plumber has lost four stone and 11 lbs in six months.
David Tillett, 55, lost the weight through attending Slimming World, changing his diet and also by taking up running again.
Mr Tillett said that before his weight loss journey he would be tempted by anything with high calories but has since moved to a healthier diet by making "simple changes."
He said: "My favourite food was peanuts, crisps, fish and chips, chocolate, anything naughty and high calorie I would pop it in my mouth.
"Now I eat a lot more healthy with the recipes in the Slimming World books, it has changed the way I eat, simple changes like not adding the fat and the oil has made a huge difference.
"It makes me feel better mentally and physically."
The simple changes have made a huge difference, with Mr Tillett's waistline decreasing from size 40 down to a size 34-36.
The plumber also said that he had always enjoyed running but at some point had found it difficult to get back into it.
The 55-year-old said "I always enjoyed running but for a while, I just couldn't run and I needed that kick start to put me on the right track for losing weight.
"I now go out for runs again on mini adventures locally and away.
Another huge influence on Mr Tillett's weight loss journey has been joining in at Kesgrave Slimming World which is held at the Baptist Church, which he also encourages more men to get involved with.
He added: "I always aim to recommend a Slimming World if anyone asks, not enough men go to Slimming World, and with the rise, more and more convenient foods are available."
