A village near Ipswich has agreed to install speed indicator devices (SIDs) on a major road to capture data on average speed and monitor drivers' behaviour.
Residents of Wherstead and those using The Strand may soon notice the device when it is installed on the verge outside Fox's Marina.
The village's parish council have been in contact with Suffolk County Council's highways committee and believes that this will be put up within the next 14 weeks.
A Wherstead council spokesperson wrote: "Fox’s have agreed that one of the speed indicator posts can be put up on the verge outside their site on The Strand.
"Highways have accepted the location, and we are now just waiting for the installation of the posts."
The SIDs will show drivers the speed of their vehicles in a bid to help them limit it and hope that Suffolk Highways and the police will be able to address concerns raised by the speeds swiftly.
Copdock and Washbrook Parish Council have also recently added these devices to The Street and Chapel Lane, in their village.
