A new children's home on Wherstead Road has been given approval.
In October, Ipswich Borough Council received an application from Kelwel Care Ltd to convert a dwelling in south Ipswich into a children's home.
The applicants had said that the property would not be different from what already exists but wanted to provide space for one child and two members of staff to aid the child.
The council has now given approval for this development stating that it is in accordance with their planning policy.
The applicants are a social care company, that specializes in providing carers and is based out of Chelmsford.
In the application, the agent Mark Jackson had stated: "The house is a self-contained dwelling, and no structural changes are proposed to the property’s exterior or interior.
"The maximum number of support staff at the house at any one time is limited to two, changeovers are minimal and the number of visits by third parties are extremely low and are not materially greater than those of a dwellinghouse."
It adds that parking for the staff members is mainly on the street, with no space available at the property.
