A trip hazard pavement is set to be repaired after reports of minor injuries from residents.

Multiple comments have been reported to Suffolk County Council's highway team regarding the state of the pavement in Ransome Road.

A 78-year-old resident who submitted a report to the Suffolk Highways via its website, said they had grazed their hands and knees and smashed some of their shopping due to a fall.

The report said: "The odd number side is worse, a lot of elderly people live in this road, I recently tripped.

"I was carrying a bag of shopping and the bottle in the bag smashed.

"I am 78 so it could have been worse."

Pavements in Queens Way have been relayed recently with the reporter commenting that the state of Ransome Road was "as bad if not worse".

Another report on the street said that there was a large raised lump in the pavement measuring at around six inches.

Suffolk Highways have been approached for comment, but it does state that work has been ordered on the street, with work to be done within the next 17 days.

Ipswich Borough Councillor for the Priory Heath ward, Owen Bartholomew, said: "I am sorry to hear a resident tripped over and hope they were not seriously hurt.

"Whilst I am glad that work is being actioned on that street, it is frustrating that once again Priory Heath residents are overlooked by Suffolk County Council.

"I would urge any residents to please get in touch if you have any concerns regarding dangerous pavements."
