A man from Ipswich has been sentenced for driving whilst disqualified.
Thomas Gillingham, of Coleridge Road in the town, was sentenced at Suffolk Magistrates' Court on November 7.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty and was given a 22 week jail sentence, which has been suspended for 24 months, and disqualified from driving for 54 months.
Gillingham was seen driving a BMW in Cumberland Street in Woodbridge on the evening of Tuesday, September 24.
This was whilst being disqualified from driving since April 19 this year until April 2027.
PC Tom Ives, from the Roads Policing unit at Suffolk police, said: "This conviction lets people know that driving whilst disqualified is not a matter which is taken lightly, particularly for repeat offenders like Gillingham.
"People are disqualified from driving as their manner of, or ability to drive, does not meet the required standards and therefore they should not be allowed on the road – as such those who chose to drive whilst disqualified, pose a risk to other road users.
"We take such matters extremely seriously and continue our efforts to take ensure disqualified drivers are not on our roads and the roads of Suffolk are safe for everyone to use legally.”
