An Ipswich man was handed a suspended sentence for a spate of thefts committed in September.
Liam Senior, of Sidegate Lane, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on October 3. The 42-year-old had admitted three offences of theft.
According to court documents, on September 16 Senior had stolen four bottles of spirits to the value of £63 from B&M.
Two weeks later, on September 28, he stole £90 of women’s fragrances from the Boots store. The following day, Senior took chocolates and wine to the tune of £67.74 from the Co-op store in Ipswich.

In total, the goods Senior stole came to the value of £220.74.
He has also pleaded not guilty to taking meat and stock cubes from the Co-op on October 2, the day before his hearing.
For the three offences of theft to which he had pleaded guilty, Senior was given a sentence of 26 weeks in prison, which has been suspended for 12 months.
According to court documents, the reason for suspending Senior’s sentence was that magistrates judged that he had a “realistic prospect of rehabilitation”.
