A former Ipswich dress shop premises could be converted into a takeaway and restaurant under new plans.

The building, which is based in Norwich Road, was the home of Beautiful Designs which was founded in 2005.

The shop closed around September time last year and the building has been vacant since.

The building was sold prior to auction in September this year for an undisclosed amount.

Now, in fresh plans submitted there are details how the space would be used by the new takeaway, with the main entrance remaining where it is.

There would be a service counter with a kitchen directly in front of the entrance and the rest of the shop floor would be used for indoor diners, with six tables and enough seating for 24 people at one time.

There will also be an onsite toilet.

The outside of the building would be unchanged bar the sign for the new restaurant, which would be similar in style and sizing to the existing sign used by Beautiful Designs.

An extraction ventilation duct would be installed also.

Ipswich Borough Council is to discuss the plans in due course.
