There are heavy delays on the one-way system due to a lane closure.
The week long works began yesterday on College Street and is in place between Foundry Lane and the double roundabout with Bridge Street.
A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said the closure will last until the evening of November 20.

Drivers have been seen queuing from Fore Hamlet and Duke Street along Fore Street, Salthouse Street, Key Street and College Street.
The closure is in place to allow workers to maintain the surface water sewer connection and install a new foul sewer.

This comes after delays on the one-way system when Key Street, Salthouse Street and Fore Street which also had lane closures last week.
Drivers have been warned of delays in the area and advised to seek alternative routes if possible.
