A student paramedic was injured and his car was left badly damaged after a hit-and-run crash in an Ipswich road.

Ben Brock, a student paramedic from Ipswich, was driving back from a 13-hour shift serving the East of England Ambulance Service on Saturday when he was passing down Spring Road.

Police say Mr Brock's black Ford Fiesta was then involved in a crash with a white car at some time before 9pm.

The other car failed to stop and drove off immediately after the collision.

An ambulance was called and Mr Brock was assisted by his manager from the ambulance service, who was on duty.

Officers were then made aware of the incident when a member of the public told a passing police car.

"I can't believe that this person drove off without saying anything. I really hope they will hand themselves in, or failing that, hopefully, they will be caught and be held accountable."

Police are appealing for information and asking anyone who saw the incident to contact them.
