Plans for a new shop in east Ipswich have been met with objections over concerns of traffic and noise.
In September, plans were submitted to Ipswich Borough Council for the Skoda car showroom in Woodbridge Road to be converted into a shop.
The shop would employ 20 people, and the approval of the plans would require minor external alterations to the building, and a rearrangement of the car park.
There would be three entrances into the car park - two from Woodbridge Road and one from Belvedere Road.
Residents who live on the latter street have shared their concerns, however, regarding the plans.
One said: "Belvedere Road is already a busy road, having a retail unit with parking would create further traffic issues with people queueing to enter/exit the car park.
"The junction of Woodbridge Road and Belvedere Road is crossed by many school children, additional traffic turning/waiting could create an unnecessary hazard and child safety issues for those users."
There was also concerns over anti-social behaviour, risk of people loitering and the noise levels that would be increased due to the number of people using it.
Another said: "As you can imagine, living next to a business can be frustrating given the noise, footfall, light pollution and parking situations.
"The current running of Bristo's operates mainly during office hours to give the neighbourhood a break. If these plans are approved then this would cause significant disruption to the neighbourhood."
On initial documents submitted, the developers said that the proposals are "not considered to have any adverse effect on the neighbouring properties, and the retail use is considered to be beneficial to the local community".
Slightly further up, also on Woodbridge Road, the East of England Co-op has applied to open in the former Renault dealership.
This shop would replace the Co-op's current store in Brunswick Road, with a hopeful opening date of spring 2025.
