Members of a golf club have set an impressive achievement by scoring four holes in one in less than a month.

Four members of Rushmere Golf Club Seniors, Steve Buckle, David Powell, Roger Gant and Chris Chesworth, all scored a hole in one in the month of October.

The first effort, hit by Steve Buckle, was scored away from home at Felixstowe on the 16th hole - which is considered tricky amongst golfers.

The second hole in one came for David Powell whilst playing at Rushmere against Thorpeness Seniors on October 17, on the 13th hole.

Holes in one are rare to come by, according to Mr Maguire, and clubs can go months without anyone from scoring one, but remarkably two came in the same day.

Mr Maguire said: "Those were amazing, we had 57 seniors playing and then you get a hole in one on the 10th group and then a hole in one on the 13th group on the two holes following each other.

"That is absolutely amazing, I haven't seen anything like it before.

"You can hear it from around the course, you hear a big a cheer, and you think that might be a hole in one, but you don't hear it very often let alone two in one game.

"The team celebrated with a bottle of scotch at the bar, a signing of a remembrance book for that player and a notice going up at the desk to celebrate the achievement."
