A major chicken restaurant chain has been given permission to open in Ipswich, the first for the town.
Ipswich Borough Council approved plans for the installation of extraction fans and changes to the front of a building near the Old Cattle Market bus station.
Pepe's Piri Piri will be the new tenants at the premises, which is in Dogs Head Street, taking over from Emmaus Suffolk homeware store.
Pepe's Piri Piri is major chain in the UK, with the firm having more than 200 stores across the country, and two stores in the United Arab Emirates.
It is the largest Piri Piri franchise in the UK, with Ipswich's nearest branch being in Colchester until the new restaurant opens.
The plans, submitted in September, show the layout of the restaurant, which will have enough seating for at least 46 people at any one time.
The seating will form a combination of booths and singular tables, and there will be a unisex toilet on site for customers.
The restaurant will employ six full-time employees and five part-time employees.
It is set to be open from 11am every day, with a closure time of 11.30pm everyday.
The chain specialises in flame-grilled chicken with six different flavours of coating to choose from.
The restaurant sells a range of products including quesadillas, burgers, fajitas, burritos, pittas, rice boxes, pastas, beef or lamb burgers and nachos, along with chicken just on its own.
The plan approval means that the Emmaus Suffolk homeware store is soon to close its doors ahead of the premises being turned into a restaurant.
Pepe's will join a number of eateries along the street including Daily Shawarma, The Plough, Best Kebab Centre, Wake Up Coffee and Kaspa's Desserts.
