Major changes to a site in south east Ipswich are continuing ahead of changing the car park layout to reduce the number of spaces.
Work crews are still busy in Edith Cook Way Ravenswood, while they transform the site of the former Frankie & Benny's and Chiquito, near Toby Carvery and Harvester.
The road has been lifted ahead of being relayed, with diggers and skips onsite. The former bin yards for each restaurant have also been removed.
The two chains closed in September last year, with the site being left vacant until plans to alter the buildings and car park were submitted to Ipswich Borough Council in April this year.
The plans would be to reduce the buildings in size so that they could accommodate a drive-thru lane each.
Due to this, the number of spaces in the existing car park were reduced, going from 95 bays to 20 electric parking bays and 47 normal parking bays, a loss of 28 parking spaces.
These plans were approved by the council in June.
Work on the site originally started in September, as the inside of the buildings were being gutted out.
It was then revealed that American fast-food chain Taco Bell had applied to take over the former Frankie & Benny's site, making it the second in Ipswich.
Taco Bell applied to alter the elevation of the building and create an uncovered bin yard area.
It is not yet known what the other site will be used for after the alterations.
