Two units in an Ipswich shopping centre have gone up for rent in the hopes of filling the centre.

Both the Bargain Food Store unit towards the back of the centre and the White Label unit opposite Boots are available for new businesses to take over.

The Bargain Food Store opened at the start of the year, taking over one of the ground floor units which had previously been used as a temporary calendar shop during Christmas time and Ntourage.

The shop was open for six months before closing in August.

It is available for rent for £25,000 per annum.

The second shop, also on the ground floor, was previously home to Barnardo's and White Label.

The unit, situated next to Topparcel and Leading Labels, opposite Boots, also closed in August this year.

This unit is available for £27,500 per annum. Both units are being offered by Penn Commercial.

With both units becoming available, it is hoped that the the shopping centre will expand its offering of shops.

Recently, Sense Aroma returned to the shopping centre for a second year following its first outing in 2023 which proved to be successful.

Elsewhere, Potatoes and More closed its doors earlier this month, also on the ground floor of the shopping centre.

Last month, asset managers Landswood de Coy LLP were appointed by the owners to manage the shopping centre, appointing Penn Commercial and FHP to market the empty units.

Penn Commercial managing director Vanessa Penn said: "We are excited to be chosen to let the flexible, multi-purpose units in Sailmakers Shopping Centre, located in the heart of Ipswich’s busiest shopping thoroughfare."

Landswood de Coy LLP managing partner Edward Schwab said: "Sailmakers is a strategically located retail destination that presents a number of value-add opportunities that we look forward to progressing together with Penn and FHP."
