A lorry was forced to reverse back down a narrow lane amid maintenance works on the A14.
While essential maintenance work is carried out on the eastbound carriageway, part of the A14 has been shut overnight between 8pm and 6am.
This has been between junction 52 at Claydon and junction 55 at Copdock Interchange.
The diversion route issued by National Highways says if going east to exit at junction 52, travel along the B1113 through Bramford and Sproughton and then along the A1071 and A1214 to rejoin the A14 at Copdock roundabout.
If going west, then the diversion is in reverse.
On Friday night, a lorry was pictured blocking Paper Mill Lane in Bramford, which is not on the recommended alternate route.
Bramford residents shared pictures of the lorry on Paper Mill Lane and reported it reversed back down the road towards the Premier Inn.
The eastbound carriageway will also be closed overnight on Saturday, October 19.
National Highways says it is monitoring traffic on the diversion route and "working with local representatives to limit disruption for residents on the B1113".
It apologised for any inconvenience the works may cause.
Work on the westbound carriageway starts on Monday, October 21.
