A lane closure on the A14 was causing long delays for drivers near Ipswich.
Police were at the scene of a broken down vehicle in the westbound carriageway near the Copdock Interchange on Thursday afternoon.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said one lane was closed while officers attend.
According to the AA Traffic Map there were long delays in the area with queues forming back to the Wherstead turn-off.
The A14 traffic cameras show traffic was at a standstill as a result of the incident.
