Ugandan spirit is set to hit a school near Ipswich for a week of cultural exchange.

Destiny Africa, a children's choir and performing arts group from Kampala in Uganda, will join Holbrook Academy for a week-long visit this week.

The visit marks another chapter in the long-standing relationship between Holbrook Academy and Destiny Africa, a bond that began in 2009.

The visit will culminate in two special performances showcasing traditional Ugandan music and dance, with shows scheduled at the Royal Hospital School on October 16 and at Holbrook Academy on October 17.

Destiny Africa is a renowned choir comprising children from Kampala Children's Centre, a charity founded to provide care, education and opportunity for children who have faced significant hardships.

Frank Antsee-Parry, deputy headteacher at Holbrook Academy, said: "It is always a pleasure to support such a vibrant and inspiring group.

"Their performances are a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit, and their workshops provide our students with a unique and invaluable cultural experience."
