Suffolk Highways has given an update on a new link road being created in west Ipswich.
A two-way single link road is being put in place as an extension to Europa Way between the end of the existing road and Bramford Road.
A mini-roundabout will also be constructed to form a new junction with Bramford Road.
Work on the new link road began in September and now Suffolk Highways has said the foundation has been placed.
New kerbs will be installed next week, highways confirmed.
A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said: "Along the Bramford Road side of the site, trenches have been dug to prepare for underground utility service diversions.
"The street lighting has been safely disconnected and removed, making way for the new roundabout.
"The new drainage soakaway at the Europa Way end has been dug down to the correct level.
"Next week, we’ll carry out further drainage works, which include installing manholes, carrier drains, vortex separators, and stone filter drains."
Plans were submitted for the road in September 2022 to help alleviate traffic issues and make it easier to access the A14.
These plans were approved in February 2023, but work was delayed due to standard procedures that must be followed.
The plan is to finish works by the end of April 2025.
