Hampton Court Palace's choir will be performing alongside Ipswich singers this weekend in a spectacular end to the town's Wolsey celebrations.
The Chapel Royal choir will perform alongside members of St Mary le Tower's choir as part of the 550th anniversary of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey's birth, as they are based in the former home of Ipswich's most famous son.
There will be a series of performances across the weekend starting at the Jubilee Hall in Aldeburgh at 7pm on Saturday.
Both choirs will perform and will be conducted by the world renowned Carl Jackson MVO and St Mary le Tower director of music Christopher Borrett.
On Sunday, October 13, the Chapel Royal choir will sing at two services at St Mary le Tower in Ipswich town centre.
The highlight of this will be the Mayor of Ipswich's Civic Service at 3.30pm which will mark the official end to the Wolsey 550 celebrations that have featured across the town over the last year.
The Vicar of St Mary le Tower, The Reverend Tom Mumford, said: "Last year our choir visited and sang at Hampton Court and so it is fantastic to be welcoming the Chapel Royal in turn back to Ipswich.
"People will have last seen the Chapel Royal and their director of music on their TVs at the Coronation.
"What a privilege it will be to have them share in the leading of worship here – Wolsey’s legacy living on."
