The start of October means restrictions on Suffolk beaches have been lifted and dogs can run up and down the shoreline. 

Here are five of the best beaches for dog walks in the colder months. 

1. Aldeburgh

Dogs can enjoy the beach at Aldeburgh all year round as the shingle beach in the north of the town is completely dog-friendly. 

2. Dunwich

When walking through the heathland, keep an eye out for the local wildlife.

3. Sizewell

Enjoy the brisk fresh air as you explore the sand dunes or stroll past the fishing boats. 

4. Felixstowe

Nearby walkers can stroll around the Landguard Nature Reserve where dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

5. Shingle Street

Dog walkers who also like the night sky can see the stars due to the low light pollution in the area.
