A vulnerable person was forced to pay £500 after being driven to a bank cash machine by a scammer.
The resident from Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich, agreed to have their driveway cleaned by a doorstep trader last week.
Once the work was completed the victim, who has dementia, was driven into Ipswich to withdraw the money and was returned home.
The traders were driving a white van.

Suffolk Trading Standards has launched an appeal to identify the individuals involved and have issued further advice to dealing with doorstep traders.
A spokesman said: "Our advice is to never deal with traders on your doorstep.
"Do your research before agreeing to have any work carried out and do not be fooled by sign printed vans, glossy leaflets and a website.
"Never agree to have any work done as a result of a cold call and do not be pressurised into having the job done immediately."
Anyone who saw traders working on driveways in the Rushmere St Andrew area last week or anyone who has any information about those involved should report it to Suffolk Trading Standards on 0808 223 1133.
