Residents from a Kesgrave care home enjoyed an opportunity to sail on the River Orwell with the help of a sailing charity.
The residents from Alice Grange Care Home visited the East Anglian Sailing Trust (EAST) based at Suffolk Yacht Harbour in Levington, near Ipswich.
EAST volunteers supported the residents throughout the day taking them out onto the water as well as teaching them the basics of how to sail - including the opportunity to go out on the River Orwell.
Raciel Sagun, general manager of Alice Grange, said that previous attempts to take the residents on the sailing trip had been frustrated by the weather but that it had been such an enjoyable experience that they would be returning.
She said: "We’ve been wanting to take the residents down to the boats for a few weeks and thought the break in the wet weather was the perfect opportunity for them.
"To be out on the water was so peaceful and calming and we will certainly be heading back again in the new year."
