A quantity of cash was stolen from a Tesco store by a man believed to be carrying a large knife and claw hammer.
The burglary happened just before 8.50pm on Wednesday at the Tesco Express in Nacton Road in Ipswich.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said a man entered the store wearing a balaclava and reportedly showed staff a large knife and a claw hammer, before asking them to open the till from which he stole a quantity of cash.
The suspect placed the money within a Tesco bag for life and left the premises on a bicycle.
It is believed that he travelled in the direction of Clapgate Lane.
Members and staff and the customers inside the store were not harmed during the incident.
The suspect has been described as wearing a grey tracksuit, about 5ft 8ins in height and of a stocky build.
Police believe this incident may be connected to the robbery at the Co-op in Ravenswood earlier this week.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information relating to these incidents, is asked to contact South CID at Landmark House, quoting crime reference number 37/54711/24.
