A major chicken restaurant chain specialising in piri piri has submitted plans to open in Ipswich town centre.
Pepe's Piri Piri has submitted the plans, which includes the installation of extraction fans and changes to the front of a building near the Old Cattle Market bus station.
The premises, in Dogs Head Street, will be in the former Emmaus Suffolk homeware store if plans are approved.
Pepe's Piri Piri is major chain in the UK, with the firm having more than 200 stores across the UK.
The plans show what the layout of the restaurant would look like, with enough seating for at least 46 people at any one time.
The seating forms a combination of booths and singular tables and there will be a unisex toilet on site for customers.
If approved, the restaurant will employ six full-time employees and five part-time employees.
Opening hours have also been proposed as part of the plans, with an opening time of 11am from Monday to Sunday and a closure time of 11.30pm every day.
Pepe's Piri Piri specialises in flame-grilled chicken with six different flavours of coating to choose from.
The restaurant sells a range of products including quesadillas, burgers, fajitas, burritos, pittas, rice boxes, beef or lamb burgers and nachos, along with chicken just on its own.
If plans are approved by Ipswich Borough Council, the restaurant will add to the growing number of eateries and takeaways along Dogs Head Street.
Wake Up Coffee is set to open soon in the former Betfred with signs displayed on the outside of the building, and the former Lewis Hair Salon on the corner of Dogs Head Street and Lower Brook Street is set to become a restaurant following the approval of a planning application earlier in the year.
Pepe's is set to join these two, along with Best Kebab Centre, Kaspa's Desserts and The Plough, in offering food to customers.
