A new McDonald's restaurant on the edge of Bury St Edmunds has taken a step forward as a premises licence application has been submitted.
McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd is seeking permission from West Suffolk Council's licensing team to serve late night refreshment on and off premises from Monday to Sunday from 11pm to 5am at the new premises in Little Ham Road, Rougham.
According to documents submitted to the council, the licence would start from October 10 and would allow the American takeaway giant to sell hot food and non-alcoholic drink throughout the night.
This follows the announcement by McDonald's that the new restaurant at Suffolk Business Park, next to the A14, is expected to open on October 2.
Plans for the new unit were approved by West Suffolk Council in March of last year after they were initially submitted in March 2022.
As well as the drive-thru McDonald's, a new Costa Coffee shop is also expected to open but a date for this is yet to be announced to the public.
