A knife-wielding cannabis farm burglar and a man who left his victim with a fractured jaw were among those put behind bars in Suffolk this week.
Morgan Burns
jailed for 42 months after punching and kicking a man outside of a Tesco Express in Bury St Edmunds.
Twenty-two-year-old Morgan Burns has beenBurns, who is of no fixed address, asked the victim for money as he went into the store, then confronted him when came out, punching him in the head and kicking him while he was o the ground.
The victim ended up with bilateral fractures to his jaw which resulted in him having screws inserted in his jaw and his jaw being wired shut.
He admitted wounding with intent causing grievous bodily harm in January and was jailed for 38 months. Burns was then jailed for a further four consecutive months after admitting sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.
Wesley Spring
jailed after admitting to four counts of attempted burglary and one count of vehicle interference.
Wesley Spring, of no fixed address, has beenThe 22-year-old had just been released from a young offenders institute and moved into the Valbri Motel in Brandon, where he was evicted for poor behaviour.
The victim of the first property he tried to break into said: “I sat up at night for days staring at the live view expecting to see someone prowling”.
He was jailed for a year.
Seth Ray
Seth Ray, of Harebell Road in Red Lodge, has been jailed for 32 months after seriously injuring two police officers.
The 29-year-old was jailed for two years and eight months and received a disqualification from driving for four years and four months.
In September 2022, Ray drove his BMW down the B1112 Eriswell Road and crashed head-on into a marked police car responding to an emergency incident.

The officers' injuries were considered to be potentially life-threatening at the time.
One of them disclosed to emergency services that the BMW was on the wrong side of the road.
Ray assisted the officers by pulling them from the car, along with members of the public who arrived after the collision providing first aid, both officers were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Ray pleaded guilty previously to two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Alex Gibb
Alex Gibb has been jailed for nine months after breaking into a cannabis factory with a large knife and stealing the plants.
Gibb, of Clapham Road North in Lowestoft, previously admitted to conspiracy to burgle and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
Co-conspirator Charlie Souter worked with Gibb in flying a drone to highlight cannabis factories using infra-red.
Police arrested Souter, whose phone revealed videos of Gibb inside the factory with a 'Rambo' knife.
Gibb was also seen on video throwing plants down stairs and bagging them up, and sitting in a car with cannabis.
Richard Taylor
jailed for 20 years with an additional two years on licence after being convicted of sex abuse charges.
Richard Taylor, a former teacher, wasThe 56-year-old of Icklingham left his victims with emotional anguish that "was far greater in significance than any physical injury", a statement read in Ipswich Crown Court said.
Another victim said Taylor “represented himself as this kindly, cool adult that any child would want to spend time with” but said “I wasn’t able to see through or evaluate this as a child”.
Taylor was convicted of one count of rape, six counts of indecent assault of a male, and nine counts of indecency with a child between 1999 and 2001.
