Plans have been revealed for what the inside of a new food hall opening in a historical Ipswich building will look like when it is completed following its £2million refurbishment.
The Tower Street Food Hall, opening in the former Yates Wine Bar in Tower Street, opposite Tower Ramparts Bus Station, will feature a range of food stalls, two bars and a kids play area.
The three-storey building will have undergone a major fit out, with the premises currently being stripped out completely before being refurbished inside, while keeping many of the historical features of the building.
The owner, Sandeep Singh, said that he wanted to keep the historic look, with the front of the food counters featuring wooden carvings to give a vintage feel.
On the ground floor, around the outside there will be a number of food counters selling a range of cuisines including Italian, Indian, Japanese and American.
There will also be plenty of tables and seats for people, as well as a coffee and desserts counter, a small bar and a children's play area under the stairs.
On the first floor, there will be more seating and a larger bar area, offering local craft beers, wines and cocktails.
On the second floor there will be a banquet hall which will be hireable for wedding celebrations, events, parties and meetings.
Mr Singh said: "We wanted to have a nice family feel to the ground floor, and we will have a main bar on the first floor so people can still come upstairs and enjoy it while keeping an area for families.
"With the second floor, we can set it up for people how they would like and people can have a bigger event if they wish due to the amount of space it will have.
"We can host up to 200 people across the first and second floor, while also serving regular customers on the ground floor."
The Tower Street Food Hall has been in the planning for two years, with Mr Singh liking the look of Trafalgar House, providing enough space following the closure of Yates last year.
Simon Anderson from Market Halls London has been a consultant on the project, and he has previously started a number of successful indoor markets in the capital city.
Work is ongoing on the building, with hopes the new Food Hall will be open before Christmas.
The new venue is set to create around 75 new jobs for people in the area.
