A popular pub in Ipswich has reopened after five months and a significant refurbishment.
The Kingfisher, in Hawthorn Drive, has undergone a full makeover over the last month, to upgrade its facilities and its live music room.
The specially adapted room has been further perfected for live music, with local talent taking to the stage every Saturday as well as karaoke and disco night on Fridays.
The pub closed in April this year, and has now reopened under the operation of Christina McKay and John Curran and will continue to operate as a Stonegate Pub Company.
They said: "We cannot wait to welcome back locals to our new look pub, and opening as a Craft Union marks an exciting new chapter for The Kingfisher.
"We believe the refurbishments have enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere while developing the community feel of the pub, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the investment.
"We are confident in our top-class beer range at a competitive price, and with our new darts board, and range of screens showing all the matches, we know we’ll be the best place to watch sport in Ipswich."
As part of the six-figure refurbishment, the outdoor drinking area has been improved, a new darts board has been added to accompany the existing pool table with free pool available all day on a Wednesday.
There is a special sports area of the pub with HD TVs.
Dogs are welcome in the pub also.
The pub has reopened and is operating from 11am to late every day.
