Drivers in Ipswich may face more delays today while a road is closed.
Cavendish Street, which is between Foxhall Road and Felixstowe Road, will be shut until 3.30pm on Thursday.
A short diversion route is in place while the road is closed.
The diversion route is as follows: Alan Road, Foxhall Road, Back Hamlet, Devonshire Road and vice versa.
Drivers may face longer than usual delays in Foxhall Road as that has been one of the many roads heavily congested as a result of the lane closure on the Orwell Bridge.
Due to the lane closure, drivers have been seeking alternative routes across the town which has led to a number of roads becoming congested.
National Highways closed one lane of the westbound carriageway of the Orwell Bridge on Friday after a "potential defect" was found during a routine inspection.
A spokeswoman for National Highways said the lane closure was put in place for safety reasons and to reduce the risk of further damage, which could potentially lead to a full closure of the carriageway.
