A chicken wing food truck has won a top award at one of the UK's biggest food festivals.

Jus Winging It has been serving at The Lattice Barn pub in Ipswich since the end of March this year.

Joe Pybus, who owns the business alongside his wife, travelled more than 200 miles with the team to attend Wing Fest in Bristol.

Wing Fest is one of the largest chicken wing events in the world and showcases the best the UK has to offer.

At the three-day event Jus Winging It received the judges award for Best Buffalo Wing for its Buffalo Soldier offering.

"When the judges brought over the award, I was just speechless," said Mr Pybus.

"It is still such a surreal feeling that a small food truck from Ipswich can travel all that way and be named one of the best.

"We came third for the same wing at Wing Fest in London so I just made a small tweak and now it's an award-winning chicken wing."

The Buffalo Solider is a chicken wing coated in a maple buffalo sauce and topped with a blue cheese drizzle and chives.

"We are heading to Wing Fest in Manchester soon and I am hoping we can come home with yet another award," said the food truck owner.

On Wednesday nights a buy one portion of wings get another half price will be offered.

Mr Pybus has also planned a further expansion of the chicken wing business to sell sauces online such as the popular maple buffalo and South Carolina BBQ.

It is hoped the sauces will be ready to sell online within the next couple of months.
