A person was pulled to safety from the River Orwell in an early morning rescue operation at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to Stoke Quay, near Stoke Bridge, in Ipswich at around 4.20am on Saturday following reports of a person in the water.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene.
Firefighters mounted a rescue operation and at about 5am the person was brought to safety and taken into the care of the waiting ambulance service.

Fire crews from Princes Street and Ipswich East attended the scene.
