The centenarian has lived in the area of Ipswich for over 60 years and is still a treasured member of the community, frequently attending community groups and enjoying walks.

The ceremony will get underway at 2.30pm at the new gateway sign which has been installed on the grass verge at the junction of The Street and Humber Doucy Lane.

Refreshments will be provided at St Andrew's Church in The Street after the unveiling finishes.

Robert Whiting, chairman of the parish council said: “I am very excited to see the new signs installed in our parish.

"As part of the community initiatives of the Neighbourhood Plan, we are aiming to strengthen the identity of the parish and these gateway signs form part of that project.

"The signs mark the entrances to the parish and celebrate the unique natural surroundings, wildlife and the history of our parish and represent our commitment to preserving our heritage while welcoming growth and diversity.

"We hope that these signs will not only guide visitors but also inspire a sense of belonging and pride among our residents.”

Funding for the signs were provided by Councillors Stuart Lawson and Debbie McCallum through their Suffolk County Councillor budgets.
