An Ipswich primary school will reopen today after a fire broke out on its roof.
The Beeches Primary School in Shakespeare Road was closed on Wednesday as a result of the blaze that started on Tuesday night.
Fire crews were called to the school at about 9.45pm where the blaze is believed to have involved some solar panels.
On Wednesday a statement on the school's website said the school would be closed while a safety assessment was carried out.
The statement said the school was "expected" to reopen on Thursday but confirmation would be posted once the assessment was carried out.
A spokesman for the school has since confirmed the school will be open today.
They said: "We can now confirm that The Beeches will be fully open for all pupils on Thursday.
"Thank you to all parents, carers and families for your understanding in this difficult situation.
"Our top priority is the safety of pupils and following checks by qualified electricians we are now completely satisfied that the school is ready to re-open."
