A police cordon was put in place near an Ipswich shopping centre.
A section of St Stephens Lane, near the Buttermarket centre, in the town centre was cordoned off close to the delivery bays behind Sainsbury's.
A police car and officers were spotted at the scene.
The nature of the incident is not yet known.
Suffolk police has been approached for a comment.
