People will notice some changes to high streets across Suffolk this month as businesses and banks will close down.

Here are some changes you will see across the county in September.

Sneezums

The business, which was launched by the Sneezum family in Ipswich in 1874 and is now situated on the Cornhill in Central Walk, Bury St Edmunds, will close its doors for the last time this month after 150 years of trading.

The decision comes as partners Elizabeth Sneezum and Yvonne Scotford-Sneezum prepare to retire.

The shop will close on September 28, with the online business continuing to operate for up to three months.

TSB bank

The Hamilton Road bank in Felixstowe will close down in September as bosses say the closure was part of its efforts to "move to a better balance of digital and face-to-face services".

The branch is expected to shut on Tuesday, September 10.

According to TSB, the reasoning behind the closure was because more people are deciding to use online banking.

A spokesman for TSB said: “The decision to close a branch is never taken lightly, but our customers are now doing most of their banking digitally and we need to move to a better balance of digital and face-to-face services."

Post office

Nayland village post office will close down this week.

The Post Office confirmed that its Nayland branch will shut its doors for the final time on Tuesday, September 3.

Wendy Hamilton, Post Office network provision lead, said the business has undertaken a comprehensive review and will not be looking to replace the village post office.

Lloyds bank

Haverhill will be left with no banks when Lloyds closes its branch in the town later this month

The banking giant is set to close its High Street branch on Tuesday, September 24.

Lloyds had been expected to close down on June 25 after the banking giant announced a round of closures last year.

However, bosses said they would keep the branch open so that a banking hub could be set up in the town.
