An Ipswich schoolgirl turned global superstar will be signing copies of her book in her hometown on Thursday.

By the time Nandi Bushell turned 12, she had already played at some of the biggest areas in the world – Wembley, the O2 in London and The Forum in Los Angeles to name just a few.

The young drumming sensation has shared the stage with the likes of David Grohl from the Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Queen’s Roger Taylor, Matt Helders from the Arctic Monkeys, Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Morella from Rage Against the Machine, and plenty more besides.

Nandi, now 14, first discovered drumming at five years old, and shot to fame when her father, John Bushell, began posting videos of her playing drum covers of popular songs online.

The young musician is an inspiration to other youngsters in Ipswich.

Last year, Nandi was included as one of the inspiring women in the latest ‘Rebel Girls’ anthology and on the front cover. This is a global series of books, dedicated to amplifying the stories of real-life women to empower girls to dream big.

Now she has penned her own book.

Nandi said that being able to write her first book at such a young age is a “dream come true”.

“I really hope that reading my book inspires you or your children to find your own passion, whether it’s drumming, dancing, or anything else that makes your heart beat faster,” she said.

On Thursday, Nandi will be at the Waterstones store in Ipswich from 1pm to 2pm, for book signings, and even a live performance.
