With the August bank holiday weekend coming up make the most of the three-day break by heading to one of these Suffolk events. 

1. Knights Tournament

When: Saturday, August 24, to Monday, August 26, from 10am until 5pm

Where: Framlingham Castle, Church Street, Framlingham, IP13 9BP

Cost: £18.50 for adults and £11 for children

Go back in time to get up close as rival knights compete in the ultimate showcase of strength and skill. 

Four armoured knights will compete in challenges that took place within the castle grounds during the 15th century. 

Visitors will also be able to engage in interactive activities such as meeting the knights. 

2. East Pint Beer Festival

When: Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, from 12pm until 11pm

Where: East Point Pavilion, Royal Plain, Lowestoft, NR33 0AP

Cost: Free entry

The festival will have a large selection of East Anglian beers, cider and cocktails to try while live music is performed. 

The venue is also hosting a beer and comedy night to kick start the bank holiday on Friday, August 23.

3. Classic and sports cars by the bridge

When: Monday, August 26, from 11am until 5pm

Where: Suffolk Food Hall, Ipswich, IP9 2AB

Cost: £4 for adults in advance (£5 on the day) and under 16's go free

Nearly 250 classic and sports cars will be on display overlooking the River Orwell and Orwell Bridge. 

Proceeds raised at the event will be donated to Cancer Support Suffolk and prizes will be given out to the best cars on the day. 

4. Taste of the Caribbean

Where: Bourne Park, Ipswich, IP2 8LU

Cost: £17 for adults and £7 for children under 14

Some of the UK's best restaurants and street food vendors will be serving a selection of dishes from across the Caribbean islands including jerk chicken and curry goat. 

As well as food the festival will also have live music and entertainment hosted by Kat B from MTV Base.

5. Open Garden for National Garden Scheme

When: Sunday, August 25, from 11am until 5pm

Where: The Priory, Laxfield Road, Badingham, IP13 8LS

Cost: £6 for adults and children go free

Designed by Chelsea Gold Medal winner Frederic Whyte, the contemporary garden will be open as part of the National Garden Scheme. 

The kitchen garden has raised vegetable beds while a half moon lawn is framed by clusters of flowering trees and white roses set against the house.
