Armed police were called to a property in Ipswich after receiving reports of a man with a knife.
A spokesman for Suffolk police has confirmed that officers were called to Hawthorne Drive at about 1pm on Monday.
Armed officers then attended the scene and a man was arrested nearby on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
Social media posts show armed police in Mallard Way securing the area before the man was arrested.
The man has now been taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning and an investigation is underway.
