The family which runs a farm near Ipswich have spoken of their excitement after they hosted a day of filming involving Ed Sheeran.

As part of the build-up to Ipswich Town's Premier League opener against Liverpool, a promotional video was shot with the Suffolk superstar and broadcast partner TNT Sports.

Filming took place at Kiln Farm Nursery in Kesgrave last week, much to the excitement of the family-run farm.

"We had a whole film crew which came down," said Ruth Goudy.

"There were about 30 people that came down. They turned up at about eight o'clock with big lorries with cameras and equipment."

Staff spent most of the morning setting up, before Sheeran arrived midway through the day.

After getting to grips with how to drive a tractor, the Shape of You singer got to work and started filming.

Mrs Goudy continued: "I had to keep it a secret! We got a phone call on the Monday before.

"I had thought it was a hoax. I was still thinking someone was going to jump out in a minute."

Staff took it in turns to go and watch the filming, before taking selfies with Sheeran who came across to chat with them.

After he left, camera crews remained on site taking various shots in the barn and around the farm.

Filming eventually wrapped up at around 7pm.

Mrs Goudy praised the attitude of filming staff, describing them as "very polite".

Sheeran was in the stands for the start of the new Premier League season, as Town were defeated 2-0 by Liverpool.

The 33-year-old has had a busy week, including being announced as a minority owner of Ipswich Town before the Blues kicked off their season.
