A three storey block made up of 22 new flats has been proposed for a vacant piece of land close to the waterfront and town centre.

Ipswich Borough Council received the application for the a piece of land in Fore Street, next to Cluetopia and the Lord Nelson Pub.

The flats will all differ in size, catering for between one to four people, and the number of beds raging from one to three.

In addition to the flats, cycle storage will be provided with space for 48 cycles. There is no parking provision supplied with the plans due to the location being close to the town centre and the waterfront.

The building will be three storey and will include a central courtyard accessed via an archway.

In the application documents, it says "the proposals will provide attractive and well-designed residential accommodation which addresses an acute housing shortage and will have no adverse effect on the surrounding amenities.”

Ipswich Borough Council will discuss the plans in due course.
