A man was left with a broken eye socket and broken nose after he was "possibly struck with a bat" in an assault in Ipswich.
Police were called to Hawes Street by the ambulance service and members of the public at around 9.30pm on Tuesday.
The victim, a man aged in his 20s, is reported as having been between Jamestown Boulevard, Hawes Street and Wherstead Road when the assault took place.
A spokesman for police said he was struck on his head, possibly with a bat, and was left with a broken nose and broken eye socket.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
The victim was wearing a white t-shirt and grey shorts when the assault took place.
Police are asking anyone that was in the area along Wherstead Road between the roundabout junction with Hawes Street and the Cowell Street junction between 9.15pm and 9.30pm to contact them.
