A man and woman have been taken to hospital after jumping out of a burning home in Ipswich.
Firefighters were called to Portman Road at about 5.15am on Tuesday to reports of a blaze at a two-storey mid-terrace house close to the football stadium.
An East of England Ambulance spokesman said three ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle, a rapid response vehicle, the Hazardous Area Response Team and Suffolk Accident Rescue Service were sent to the scene.
UPDATE: Man arrested on suspicion of arson
A man and woman suffered lower limb injuries from jumping from the house and were taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment.
The fire is now out and a spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said crews used hose reel and main reel jets and wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
Four crews were initially called to tackle the blaze but one appliance remains on site while a fire investigation is carried out.
A police cordon remains in place and the road is still closed.
